## How to Get or Renew Your Florida Medical Cannabis CardGetting certified in Florida is easier than you think. Here’s a quick rundown:- Schedule an in-person exam for your initial certification with a qualified physician. State law requires a face-to-face visit for all first-time patients.
- Telehealth renewals: Thanks to House Bill 387 (effective July 1 2023), established patients can renew their certification via telehealth as long as they stick with the same doctor. If you switch physicians, you’ll need another in-person exam first.
- Start your renewal 45 days before your card expires. Florida only accepts renewals within this 45-day window, so mark your calendar and renew on time.
- Use your Florida ID: The Medical Marijuana Use Registry can automatically pull your driver’s license photo and verify your residency—no uploading needed.
- State fee: The Florida Department of Health charges a $75 annual fee for the medical marijuana ID card.
- Doctor’s visit cost: Most initial evaluations range from $150–$250. Renewals are usually less.Need more help? Visit the OMMU site for step-by-step instructions, or reach out to one of the trusted providers listed below. We’re here to help you stay safe, legal, and informed.
